New Tata Photon WiFi pocket router

Tata Teleservices Limited has launched a new access device Tata Photon WiFi Pocket Router, which enables multiple users and devices to share wireless internet with WiFi enabled devices nearby.
The Tata Photon WiFi router allows broadband internet access speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps (downlink) and 1.8 Mbps (uplink).
The router is supported with an in built battery and an RJ45 Ethernet port for local area network support. This feature enables plugging the device into a laptop or desktop to get connected.
The router will be available in four cities initially, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The device is priced at Rs 6,500 in the open market, but is available at an introductory price of Rs 4,999.
Lloyd Mathias, chief marketing officer, Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL), said, “The innovative new product allows not just internet and email access, but caters to a host of other applications as well, through any WiFi ready device such as large file downloads, photographs, spreadsheets, and much more.”
