Geojit launches Mobile Trading

Geojit BNP Paribas today launched its online trading platform via Mobile, a revolutionary new investment platform in the Indian capital market.
Speaking at the launch function here, Geojit BNPP Managing Director, C J George, said while it has already integrated FLIP (The Financial Internet Platform) into its boquet of products, with mobile trading clients would be able to stay in touch with the market and invest, trade from anywhere-- home, while travelling, office at a very low monthly cost.
Geojit's customers would benefit immensly as they would have the capablity to 'trade in their plam'. Fifteen years ago, stock exchanges were far away and the mobile trading brings the exchange in your hand', he said.
Among the significant features of the mobile trading are simple. easy and attractive user interface, customizable Market Watch, secure connection (HTTPS), ability to provide details for stocks, market to market, orders, trades, margin and holding, easy access to market news and research tops through interactive messages, ease in placing instant buy/sell orders and cancellation of outstanding orders etc.
The platform is expected to be of great help to the NRIs at different time zones, he said.
According to the International research organisation Gartner, India is the second largest wireless market in the world with 618 million mobile subscribers uptil may this year.
Its mobile subscriber base is expected to grow to 993 millon by 2014 with penetration levels reaching 82 per cent.
George said february 2000 was a milestone for capital market when Geojit launched internet trading for the first time in the country and this was another milestone.
Geojit Technologies has developed the software inhouse.
Geojit Technologies CEO, A Balakrishnan said among the services being provided are- Order management, view Price movements, Portfolio Information, Market Analysis, Real Time charts etc. It provides a conslidated view of depository holdings, equities. Security is embedded in the system.
Mutual funds can also be purchased using mobile phones.
