The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had issued guidelines in September for securities trading through wireless technology on mobile phones and laptops using data cards.
During that month, the National Stock Exchange had also launched a mobile trading application which was downloaded more than 20,000 times within two months.
NSE's mobile app provides information related to the latest price of stocks, latest index values, top gainers and losers, corporate announcements, interest rate futures and currency futures.
NSE saw total turnover of close to Rs 850,000 crore in the cash segment and of more than Rs 5,800,000 crore in the futures and options segment during April-June this year.
