Sony PlayStation Phone likely to be out by April

The Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone is likely to hit the North American and European store shelves by April 2011 reports According Japanese website Asahi Shimbun.
The probable name of the device may either be called Zeus Z1 or Xperia Play. The questions about which games will the users be able to download or how many models would support the platform haven't been clarified yet, though coming weeks are likely to bring more clarity on these.

Technology blogs have been talking about the probable arrival of PlayStation phone since long, but recent reports suggest that the company might be closer to launching it.
The popularity of Android as a platform is increasing gradually and the PlayStation phone addition may prove to be a huge boost to it.
Sony Ericsson seems to be strongly betting on a future with Android being a part of it, and it is actively building a gaming platform, ecosystem and device using it . The device may come with a bigger touch pad as well as standard PSP buttons.
It is likely to have a large display, with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. On the software front, it is likely to run Android Gingerbread, which is customised for PlayStation. Chances are that other Android phones may also get some games if their specs match the requirement.
It's a win-win partnership for both Sony Ericsson and Google, since Sony gets to launch the PlayStation phone whereas Google's Android platform gets a much needed boost in the mobile entertainment segment.
