Sony Ericsson Yendo to be launched this month

Sony Ericsson is gearing up to launch its first full touchscreen Walkman device, Yendo.
According to the sources familiar with the development, "The phone is expected to be available in the market by the end of this month or early February this year."

Yendo, first showcased during CommunicAsia 2010, was earlier slated to be launched in the first week of October and will be priced around Rs 8,000.
The device sports a 2.6 inch touchscreen and comes with Sony Ericsson's TrackID music recognition and PlayNow applications.
Although the phone has an internal memory of 5MB, it comes with expandable memory support up to 16 GB. It has a 2.0-megapixel camera.
This Walkman phones comes with a welcome addition of 3.5mm audio jack. Yendo is not a 3G device but comes with GPRS and EDGE support along with Bluetooth with A2DP.
The phone will be available in ten colours including pink, yellow, purple, blue etc, while two changeable back covers will be provided with the handset.
Sony Ericsson had last year launched array of handsets including the Xperia X10, Xperia X8, Vivaz, Cedar etc.
The company had also announced that it will incorporate digital living networking alliance (DLNA) technology in its handsets starting December 2010. DLNA is a group of around 250 consumer electronic manufacturers who have formed a consortium to produce standards based technology. DLNA compatible gadgets are meant to be able to share media seamlessly among one another.
