MTS launches its first Android smartphone for free

Customers just need to sign up for a monthly rental up Rs 1500 with a commitment of 12 months for the HTC Pulse smartphone.

 MTS today brought out its first CDMA Android smartphone, the HTC Pulse, bundled with free calls, data usage and SMSes in India.

The smartphone, worth Rs 18,000, is available for free for its existing as well as new customers. Customers just need to sign up for a monthly rental of Rs 1,500 with a commitment of 12 months to get the device.
Users would get 1500 minutes talk time along with free 1500 SMSes and free data usage of 1500 MB every month for twelve months.
HTC Pulse is based on the Android 2.1.
The phone has 3.2 inch TFT LCD display with a capacitive touch with a five megapixel camera and 32 GB of expandable memory. The phone is compatible with dual band CDMA network and consists of internal GPS antenna.
The new launch of MTS, which started services in the country in 2009, comes at a time when it has crossed the psychological 10 million mark.
MTS, a part of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL), has also unveiled a new tag line for its global brand; MTS — A Step Ahead.more:tmi
