Coming soon: Better Cheaper Display Technology from Samsung

Samsung a major player in the  display technology  segment plans to further bolster its position in the segment by introducing a new technology called super PLS technology, which is going to replace the existing and popular IPS technology in mobile handset.

Looking at the specs and price to produce, Samsung's Super PLS LCD display seems to have all the makings of a winner.
The new technology called "Super PLS" or "Plane-to-Line-Switching" for LCD displays. According to the company statement this technology gives almost 100 per cent improvements when it comes to viewing angles and is 10 per cent brighter than AMOLED displays.
Super PLS technology supports up to WXGA resolution which will likely be 1280 x 800 or 1366 x 768 pixels (compared to 960×640 on a iPhone4 Retina display).
Samsung also said in a statement that the screens will be 15 per cent  cheaper to produce which in turn will reduce the price of mobile handsets even further.
Mass production of the displays will begin early next year and will be implemented on all future smartphones by Samsung.
