Samsung's latest tablet bridges the gap between 7inch and 10 inch.
Samsung is set to launch its first tablet computer which will be lot lighter and convenient than the its existing counterparts, reports suggest.
Reports on Samsung's bold new unconventional tablet have started to come from the CTIA (International association for the wireless telecommunications) Wireless 2011 exhibition in USA.
It is unconventional because of the tablet's display size of 8.9 inches.
The 8.9 inch tablet size bridges the gap between the lighter and easier to carry 7 inch tablets and bigger 'easier on eyes' 10.1 inch tablets.
The Samsung tablet is lighter with close to 470 grams of weight and 8.6 mm width, which is slightly over the width of a standard smartphone.
The pictures revealed by Pocketnow.com taken right from the venue, shows that the device has a real snappy look.
The pictures also confirm that the device will use a 1Ghz dual core processor. There is no information about dedicated graphics but it is expected to have one.
It could have an 8.9 inch display screen with a WVGA resolution (1200 x 800) that provides it higher pixel density over other tablet computers.
The tablet 8.9 will also use a custom User Interface (UI) which sits on top of the Android 3.0. The UI will give it features like the application shift and peek options, allowing users to get a Win 7 type feel while using this device.More:tmi
