Tata Docomo has been offering plans in the past with usage of specific
apps and web services. Now the operator has introduced a new plan with
free unlimited WhatsApp messaging usage. The plan is called “Unlimited WhatsApp”
and is only available for new postpaid customers in Mumbai as of now.
The telecom operator has launched eight plans with a starting price of
Rs 199, going all the way up to Rs 1,099. Users of these plans will be
charged 1.3 paise per 2 seconds for STD call rates.
Besides WhatsApp, Tata Docomo offers pay per site plans for services like Gmail+Gtalk, Rediffmail, Yahoo Mail and Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, Orkut and Nimbuzz. The company offers 200MB of usage for these services at Rs 10 with a validity of 30 days.
Earlier this month, Tata Docomo partnered with YouTube to offer special video streaming plans to its subscribes starting at Rs 9 per day. In June, the company launched new unlimited data plans for Photon postpaid customers, starting at Rs 650 a month. These plans were introduced for Photon Max Wi-Fi, Max and Plus dongles. Starting at Rs 650, these plans offer 3GB of data at 9.8MBps speeds till the data limit is crossed.
