Endeavour expects 1.5 lakh CWG application downloads

Endeavour Software Technologies, a mobile applications provider based in Bangalore, has launched an application for the ongoing Commonwealth Games called CWG Games. The company is expecting 1.5 lakh downloads for the application.
The application CWG Games has been launched for Airtel BlackBerry users, and will be promoted exclusively on Airtel App Central and BlackBerry AppWorld.
Naveen Ramakrishnan, senior business consultant, Endeavour Software Technologies, said, "The application is exclusively for Airtel BlackBerry users and comes with an Airtel logo. Airtel would be promoting the application."

The solution will help visitors, fans and attendees of Commonwealth Games 2010 to keep themselves updated with the latest happenings in the Game Village. Information that the app provides includes medal history, event schedule, CWG photos, and guide maps to the event venues etc. This information has been pooled from public resources.
The application has been made interactive with the addition of features such as Cheer Sounds, which allow users to save new and innovative sounds. These sounds are then added to the Cheer Sounds database and are available to other users. Users can also upload pictures they take of the event.
The uploaded cheer sound, message or photo is voted on by all users on a daily basis and winners stand a chance to win BlackBerry phones.
Endeavour Software Technologies has developed more than 300 applications so far.
Talking about the company's plans, Ramakrishnan added that it will focus on "bringing mobile magazine and other media related material on mobiles."
The company is also working to develop video surveillance platforms for enterprises, which should be ready in the coming three to four months.
